Evelyn Brown School

We decided to raise some money and build a school in Kenya in my dear moms name.It is a village called Vikolani. Here are some pictures that Nikki and I took while we were there. Its kind of cool it started out as just a kindergarten ran by Koins and is now a government recognized school.

Vikolani is putting out some of the smartest kids right now and im not just sayin that out of prejudice they really are some of the smartest. Last year Koins had 4 boys that passed there final exam to get into a college and 3 of them were from Vikolani!!!!YEAH

This is the work the teacher was giving them they are adding "chairs" but dont really know what chairs are. Notice there "chairs" are logs.

This is the kids showin me there homework they were so proud of them self's.

This is the building where they used to attend until we build the other one. There is only one teacher and there are 64 kids.

This is the restroom that all 64 kids and the rest of the village use when they are walkin by.

These are our ladies caring our water notice the middle one is going to add another addition to the Evelyn Brown School.
This is it on one of the 1st days before they plastered it and started our 2nd edition.

These are some of the kids that are attending the school.

Some more of our students inside the class room in front of the chalk board.

Some of the guys that were on the trip with us finishing up with the last little bit of paint.

Notice what the plasterer is standing on (nice stable surface)

These are the ladies that were caring the water for the school. They are so amazing one of them was like 8 months pregnant. The water hole was about a mile and a half away and they would carry water on their heads non stop for about 8 hours. Im so thankful for them, with out them the school would not have been able to be built.

Here are some guys makin the plaster for the wall inside and out.

It is basically a man made cement maker.

Nikki standing in front of the school.

This little girl was concentrating so hard to get it done and get it done right.
I just love this little kids shirt so cute. How many people do you think have worn it and how many countries has it been to before him claiming it?
This little boys shirt says 2 Pac around the collar another cute shirt that makes you wonder how many people have owned it until it now.

Natalie,

I was spying and found your blog. It is really amazing what you are doing. Turns out we were not far from each other in OCT 2007. I spent about 6 months in Uganda. It has become a second home to me and I understand your attachment. If you ever want help with your project in Kenya let me know. I know a few dedicated people that work in that region and am happy to do anything I can do myself to help.
